Getting Press: Understanding and Navigating the World of Media and Public Relations

Join Andrea Strong of The Strong Buzz, along with esteemed panel of media including Florence Fabricant of The New York Times, Kate Krader of Food & Wine Magazine, Jee Won Park of CBS The Early Show, Pavia Rosati of Daily Candy, Magdalena Spirydowicz of MST Creative Group, Emma Thomas, KB Network News, and learn how to work with the media. A discussion of dos and don'ts when looking for press exposure, what's new & newsworthy, contacting media directly vs. working with a PR professional, what mistakes to avoid, whether you need a press release and what makes a good one, and more. The panel discussion will be followed by a Q & A session. This event is being held at The French Culinary Institute (the Amphitheater), 462 Broadway at Grand Street. An Introduction to Food Blogging, with Andrea Strong and Harvey Kreiswirth
Wed March 12th from 7 - 9:30pm
Join me on Wednesday March 12th for a night of everything you always wanted to know about food blogging but were afraid to ask. I'll teach you how to (and why) start a food blog. You'll learn how to establish your own voice and how to decide what your blog should cover, as well as the practical ins and outs of food writing: how to find information through research and interviews, and the art of food writing and reviewing in general. Harvey Kreiswirth, who runs Big City Partners, a website development strategy and consulting business, will also be on hand to answer questions about the technical side of blogging---building, designing, and developing your website. Ample time will be set aside to answer your questions and help develop and workshop your own food blog ideas.
