“Pamplona's Running of the Bulls ”

I’ve never run with the bulls in Pamplona. To be honest, I have no desire. I’ve been to the town and it’s charming, but I think trying to hail a taxi during rush hour is about as close as I’ll come to bull running. For those wishing to celebrate Pamplona’s Running of the Bulls from a safe distance, head over to Alex Urena’s Spanish restaurant Pamplona for a week-long celebration including an "all bull" menu starting Monday, July 7th and “running” until Saturday, July 12th, 2008.

The five-course carnivore’s menu ($65 per person or $90 with wine) includes beef carpacio with pickled vegetables, oxtail terrine with quail egg, leeks, and asparagus, beef cheeks with English Pea purée and sweet corn foam, steak with bacon potato gratin and spinach, and for dessert, fried milk with dulce de leche ice cream. Pamplona is located at 37 East 28th Street, 212-213-2328.
