“Montenapo to Open in the NY Times Building on May 13th ”

Joining Inakaya in the NY Times Building on Wednesday May 13th is Montenapo, a sprawling, lofty, 200-seat restaurant and bar named for the Rodeo Drive of Milan: Via Montenapoleone. The restaurant, which faces the building’s serene inner birch-and-moss garden, will offer modern and traditional Italian fare by Chef German Lucarelli (Bice Restaurant in Paris, London, and most recently New York), and consulting chef Giacomo Gallina.

On their menu you’ll find appetizers like herb-cured buffalo carpaccio with celery and mustard drizzle, pancetta-wrapped green asparagus in tallegio cheese sauce and poached egg, and aged Parma ham with burratina and Sicilian tomatoes.

Pastas are split into Modern, with dishes like dry vermouth and lemon zest trofie pasta with baby scampi bisque, and honey mint ricotta-filled mezzaluna with sweet tomato sauce, and the Classic, featuring fresh vongole linguini with Spumanti wine sauce, home made pappardelle with lamb ragout and thyme, and acquarello organic carnaroli rice with Iranian saffron, Parmesan cheese, white wine, onion, and edible gold flakes (!), drizzled with a red wine reduction.

Secondi include Tuscan zuppa di pesce with cherry tomato broth, veal chop Milanese with verbena salad, and original Ossobuco Montenapo. If you’re up for a dinner out with friends, the restaurant features a chef’s table for eight to 12 people.

Montenapo, which will open May 13th, is located at 620 Eighth Avenue, entrance on West 41st Street between 7th and 8th Avenue, 212-764-7663 for reservations of 212-764-7227 for take out.
