“One More Steakhouse for Midtown”
The Capital Grille will open a second NY restaurant on May 11, 2009, in the Time-Life Building (120 West 51st Street, 212.246.0154). The menu will mirror its sibling with signatures like Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers, Kona Crusted Dry-Aged Sirloin with Caramelized Shallot Butter, Porcini-Rubbed Delmonico with 12 Year-old, Aged Balsamic Vinegar, Seared Citrus Glazed Salmon and Lobster Mac ‘N’ Cheese.
To honor the memories of some of New York’s most prominent figures, The Capital Grille Time-Life commissioned 12 original portraits to adorn the restaurant’s mahogany-paneled walls including Shirley Chisolm, Lou Gehrig, Oscar Hammerstein, Philip Johnson, Henry Luce, George B. McLellan, Jr., Groucho Marx, Ethel Merman, Frederick Law Olmstead, Jackie Robinson, Samuel Lionel "Roxy" Rothafel and Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Why on earth would anyone launch another midtown expense account steakhouse in this economy?
