My comments...

“Good News... what ?”
$60 corkage fee!? That is not good news for winos? That is bad news for business. Obviously their business is not doing very well to have to waive a corkage of that outrageous proportion. Sorry, I am over-my-head with disappointment that restauranteurs would charge so much. And people wonder why diners list sommeliers and restaurant wine lists in surveys as "intimidating and unapproachable," because some like to keep their customers at arm's length. Grazie mille, mpare. Ci vediamo... mai.

“The Crisis”
From a distance I am hearing about how the financial crisis has been effecting NYC restaurants (not only this past week or two, but for quite some time this year). This is sad news. Bad things I am hearing: restaurants are raising prices and minimizing portions. Fact or fiction ? Would love to hear what is going on from those of you eating and drinking around town. Thanks.
