;s worked at Balthazar and Schiller’s. He is serving a nice menu. We loved the hand-cut steak tartare, mixed to order tableside by Jason (who is quite adorable), with Worcestershire, shallots, Dijon, truffle capers, and sea salt and his sneaky house specialty hot sauce ($12). We also liked their twist on a charcuterie platter, this one is stocked with Serbian meats and cheeses—smoked duck proscuitto, and kuleni—a spicy sausage from Sarajevo and Bosnia, along with the most silky-smooth and well-seasoned chicken liver pate in recent memory, with maple glazed walnuts ($12). Spector is also serving soulful entrees like stuffed pork loin with spinach and herbs and butternut squash puree ($19) and monkfish with brussel sprouts and pancetta. And for dessert, you MUST have the hand-made chipwich—a pair of delicious oversized chocolate chip cookies sandwiched around a thick and creamy middle of vanilla gelato. I also highly recommend the caramelized pears—cut into candied slices—topped with a cloud of Greek yogurt drizzled with honey. These desserts were simple, and hit the spot.

While it’s tempting to eat at Employee’s Only, there’s really little reason to turn to solid food when your liquid dinner might consist of a Mediterri—honey, lemon vodka, fresh fig puree (this one is like liquid sunshine; it just makes you feel all warm and happy) or The Ruby Tuesday, the best way to consume Bourbon—and that would be shaken with Benedictine, fresh lemon juice, and smashed black cherries. There are plenty of other cocktails to try, like The Sultana—cardamom-infused Level vodka shaken with fresh squeezed Pomegranate juice, and The Martinez—Bombay Saphire Gin stirred with Martini Bianco, Maraschino liqueur, Absinthe bitters, served in a sugar-rimmed glass.
