ian peg into a French square. It is not fussy or precious or frothed. It is honest and simple and honors the integrity of that culinary culture. And I wondered if an Italian restaurant could break the traditional four-star paradigm. Based on my meal at Del Posto, it does. I am sure the minor kinks in the seasoning will be corrected, and I feel like the experience of dining there as a whole—the palatial design, the flawless service, the killer food, and the attention to detail—was extraordinary, unique and quite special. And hey, it’s not every day that you walk into a restaurant and feel like Audrey Hepburn. Now if I could only find myself a Gregory Peck. He’s gotta be around here somewhere.
Del Posto is located at 85 Tenth Avenue, at 16th Street, 212-497-8090.
