Night Out Seafood Midtown Break the Bank Off the Charts

RM After ten years at the helm at Oceana, the chef, Rick Moonen, decided to set off on a ship of his own. And at RM, his sparkling new namesake eatery, seafood (lucky for us) remains the star attraction. Indeed, Mr. Moonen has a gift with the ocean’s bounty (sea urchin, oysters, monkfish, lobster--you name it, he's caught it--if it's sustainable--and served it), and with a new space to breath, he has found new inspiration and a source of revitalization. The New American menu at RM sets off sparks, focusing on the freshest catch and perfectly blending seasonal ingredients with vibrant global flavors. The sophisticated dining room is dressed in soothing neutral tones, with lots of blond wood, and soothing, warm, golden lighting, lending the restaurant a Zen vibe. Despite the high-income power crowds that fill the restaurant for business lunches and civilized, exquisite dinners, the dining room remains a serene retreat from Midtown stress. RM, 33 East 60th Street, b/w Madison & Fifth Avenues, 212-319-3800
