The Strong Buzz

“Bolo -- CLosed”

March 7, 2003

Chef, restaurateur, Food Network star, and author Bobby Flay is one busy celebrity-chef, and lucky for us fame hasn’t gone to his head. Indeed, the food at Bolo, the Spanish restaurant he opened ten years ago, keeps getting better (with the help of very talented chef de cuisine Larry Manheim). Recently back from trips to Barcelona, Flay has reinvented the menu at Bolo, adding a delicious menu of tapas (and a nice list of Sherrys) to his lively, contemporary Spanish menu. While the food has continued to excite, the room at Bolo could use a facelift, and feels worn at the seams. Nevertheless, the bar is still alive with regulars and the restaurant has a warm energy to it that makes it a wonderful place to dine.
