FLORENT

Florent is a late-night reveler’s institution. Located in the now hip Meatpacking district, Florent has been there for decades. It opened way back in the day when the neighborhood was filled with transvestites, prostitutes, and various other nightlife characters, not models and haute savory meals. Now a destination neighborhood, Florent is still a hot spot, serving its menu of simple brasserie-styled French fare 24 hours, 7 days a week. You can feast on Boudin with caramelized onions, steak frites, eggs all the time, and fat and juicy burgers. The best part of Florent is strolling in after a long night of partying, and sitting down to a cup of coffee, a good hot meal, and a whole lot of people watching. You’ll see drag queens, truckers, supermodels, Chelsea boys, and just about every walk of life sitting side by side, smiling, and enjoying the wonderful world that is New York.

Florent, Gansevoort Street, b/w Greenwich & Washington Sts., 212-989-5779.
