“Brunch at Jo's, Drinks at Rouge Tomate, and Sunday Suppers at Harbour”

Saturday: Brunch at Jo’s, 264 Elizabeth Street (212-966-9640).
Weekends are usually about two things—late nights and brunch. At Jo’s, a new American bistro in Nolita owned by Jim Chu and Johnny Santiago (White Rabbit) and Kevin Felker (Pastis, Barmarche) a celebration of both meal times is underway with new menus from executive Chef Ian Topper-Kapitan. Late night, he’s serving shrimp pierogies with shallots and sweet corn emulsion ($9), mussels with roasted tomatoes, chorizo, white wine, and herbs ($15), and a duck confit sandwich with red onion marmalade, bacon, lettuce and tomato ($13). The next morning, he’s slinging everything from eggs any style ($6.50) to chicken fried steak ($15).

Saturday: Drinks at Rouge Tomate, 10 East 60th Street between Madison and 5th Avenues, 646-237-8977.

Staying in the city on sweltering summer weekends can be, well, a bit depressing. Rouge Tomate helps combat the blues with their new Summer Saturdays—half off their entire wine list all night long, plus half off their entire cocktail list from 6-8pm. Lemme tell ya, a tall glass of their refreshing spiked strawberry lemonade after a day of lounging under the shade of an old oak tree in Central Park is sure to make summer in the city a lot sweeter.

Sunday: Supper at Harbour, 290 Hudson Street, 989-6410
Continue your summer escape in the city with dinner at Harbour where you can get a taste of the sticky salty Montauk air in their breezy, beach-inspired dining room. Chef Joe Isidori has just started serving a summery Sunday night menu of dishes like clam chowder, crispy softshell crab, towering platters of raw bar and Korean style clam bakes. Settle in before or after dinner the airy front bar room for a couple of pints of Rogue beer or a bottle of Muscadet and you’ll never want to leave.
