“Mexican Independence, Slow Food Pot Luck on Governor's Island, Bottomless Brunch at The Guilty Goose, 5 & Diamond Guest Chef ”

Friday! Celebrate Mexican Independence day at Henry’s on the UWS

Honestly, if people threw weekly parties in honor of Mexico, I would not complain. If you love Mexican food and drink as much as most, you won't want to miss this.

The Fiesta Patria Square Meal at Henry's on the Upper West Side is the perfect excuse to take an extended lunch break and celebrate Mexican Independence Day.

So ditch the cubicle and head uptown from noon-5pm on September 16th for a Square Meal that features the traditions of Mexico conveniently served up on a single plate. Chef Mark Barrett has prepared black bean soup garnished with sweet corn salsa and a swoosh of chive oil. To accompany the soup, quinoa salad and a soft corn taco with your choice of filling from hanger steak to tongue. Finally, you can't celebrate the independence of Mexico without smooth, sweet caramel flan. Recommended lunch pairing: margaritas, of course (we won't tell your boss).

The four-course Square Meal is just $20 per person ($25 with beverage pairing). To make your reservations, call 212.866.0600 or visit henrysnyc.com. Henry's is located on 2745 Broadway (at 105th Street).

It's so much better than eating at your desk.
