“French Market, July 4th Boat Bash with Brooklyn Brewery”

New French Market Debuts Friday

An outdoor French market will make its debut on Friday in the Chelsea Triangle, on Ninth Avenue from 14th to 15th Streets. It will be run by Bensidoun USA, a branch of a company that runs public food markets in Paris, elsewhere in France, and in Chicago, White Plains and Stamford, Conn. Ten vendors, some on a rotating basis, will sell local produce, pasta, pizza, honey, and French-style baked goods and charcuterie. Hours: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., through Nov. 24. July 4th Festivities

Pera Soho Deck Party

At Pera Soho, just 25 celebrants per seating will burst with Independence Day pride while they marvel at the American Way as exemplified by the stunning Manhattan cityscape views from the restaurant’s roof deck and the limitless food and drink. For the first time the stylish rooftop deck has been open to the public, culinary fireworks will be ignited by the deck’s grill cooking of Raki Dunkin’ Chicken, Beef Adana Hot Dogs, Skewered Mussels and the restaurant’s signature Shashlik Steaks (specially marinated center cut) of beef and duck. The grilled meats and shellfish will be complemented by an appropriately sun-kissed Mediterranean-American buffet of cold cuts, salads, meze and desserts. PLUS the refreshing cocktail of the day, Watermelon Mojitos and / or all the wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee and tea the patriotic pack cares to drink. The first two seatings are at 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., with two-and-a-half-hours for power eating and drinking at $55 per person, sun screen included, but not tax and gratuity. For the third seating at 8 p.m. Smoked Salmon and Shrimp will further enhance the buffet, while Filet Mignon Brochettes will up the gastronomic anti on the grill. And participants in this July 4th bountiful BBQ extravaganza will be reminded of the Star Spangled Banner by the sound of “the bombs bursting in air and the rockets’ red glare” from the annual Macy’s 4th of July fireworks display on the nearby Hudson River. Unless you have bleacher seats for the pre Macy’s July 4th Fireworks show (or can get on a boat -- see below!), there is no better place than 230 FIFTH to watch the annual world famous display. Situated at the corner of 27th and Fifth Avenue, the tropical garden-like rooftop bar that boasts the city’s largest open-to-the-pubic high altitude outdoor space is ideally situated to get a spectacular unobstructed look at the sky high artistry emanating from all the barges located on the Hudson River from 14th to 47th Streets. And besides the explosive panorama, celebrants can have the benefit of food, drink and easy access to rest room facilities! For reserved seating, bottle –service will be the order of the say – a bottle of Champagne for up to three guests and a bottle of liquor per 4 – 6 starting at $199. For those willing to take their seating chances, there will be two drink minimum. And for those with beer budgets willing to take their chances on getting in all together, there will be no minimum after 9,which is more or less when the fireworks commence. As always at 230 FIFTH, there will be no cover and for some very accessibly price July 4th picnic fare garnished with 230 FIFTH’s 360 degree Manhattan skyline views, the city’s largest rooftop bar will be open five hours early at 11 a.m. with service of two all beef hot dogs for $10, burgers for $9, two vegetable kabobs for $7 and corn on the cob at $3. Fourth of July Boat Bash
