“Southern-Style Brunch, Gowanus Benefit”

Southern-Style Brunch at the Co-Op @Hotel on Rivington

Chef James London, formerly of Montauk's Crow's Nest, is bringing a taste of the South to brunch at the Co-Op @ Hotel on Rivington. Starting this weekend, London is sharing some of his favorite treats from growing up in the culinary Mecca of Charlestown, South Carolina including his mother's shrimp & grits, fried chicken & waffles, and biscuits & gravy. Menu choices also include a Smoked Salmon Benedict, Bacon, Egg & Cheese Bagel, Rivington Sliders (Dry Aged Beef, Vermont White Cheddar, Buttered Buns), Steak & Eggs (Skirt Steak, Two Eggs, Bernaise, Tater Tots), Truffled Mac And Cheese, and Dulce De Leche French Toast with Whipped Cream & Strawberries. Endless bloody Marys and mimosas are included in the $22 per person price tag.

Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00PM - 3PM. The Hotel on Rivington is located at 107 Rivington Street, 212 475 2600.

Gowanus Benefit

A winter festival to benefit the Gowanus Canal Conservancy, an environmental group, will be on held on Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight at Ray Smith Studio, 261 Bond Street (Degraw Street), Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, with hot dogs, toppings, sides and beer: $26.87, including a pork and melted cheese sandwich, a hot dog, a side order, and two drink tickets, or $11.34 for children, from gccwinterfestival2013.brownpapertickets.com.
