“Cupcakes For a Cause”

The cupcake craze is far from over. So why not indulge for a good cause? Now through the end of March, 100% of the proceeds of the large Coconut Cupcake at Citarella will be donated to City Harvest. It’s a sweet reward that pairs perfectly with its buttercream frosting. 

Baked from scratch daily by pastry chef Carolina Perego, the cupcakes at Citarella have been touted as some of the best in the city. The Coconut Cupcake is moist, delicate, and topped with a sweet yet subtly salty frosting coated with chewy coconut flakes. It’s one of their most popular flavors (second to none other than red velvet).  

And the icing on the cake? The cupcakes supports City Harvest as they help over 260,000 hungry New Yorkers find their next meal. Order one or a dozen to share. This softball-sized treat is well worth the $2.99.  

The City Harvest Coconut Cupcake is available at all six Citarella locations in both Manhattan and the Hamptons until March 31st, 2011.
