“Mardi Gras Party at Gravy Feb 17-21”

New Yorkers know how to party, but a mega-party like Mardi Gras in the Big Apple is never quite the same. At Gravy, a Southern-themed restaurant which opened last year in the Flatiron District, the new executive chef (and Louisiana native) Reagan Angelle adds a bit more of authenticity to the festivities.

Chef Angelle (who’s also worked at Palm Restaurant in the city as well as Commander’s Place in New Orleans and Maison Lacour in Baton Rouge) is offering a $45 per person Mardi Gras prix fixe menu from February 17 to 21 with items like oysters, pan-roasted red snapper and of course, potent drinks. You’ll probably want to check out “The Bacchanal,” a grape-centric take on the class “French 75,” with a grape spirit gin, grapeseed bitters and Champagne among the ingredients. All the celebration goes toward helping out the Make It Right Foundation, too, which is helping to rebuild Nola’s lower ninth ward.

Gravy is located at 32 East 21st Street (between Broadway and Park Avenue), 212-600-2105, www.gravyny.com.
