“Waldy Malouf's High Heat to Open Friday”

Beacon's Waldy Malouf will open High Heat: Pizza Burgers and Tap this week, a place where the burgers you’ve come to love at Beacon will take center stage along with pizzas, fries, and farmstand salads. On tap, you’ll find cool housemade sodas as well as wine and draught craft beers.

Burger lovers will want to check out his grilled “smokestack” burgers made from freshly ground premium brisket and short rib from naturally-raised American beef. The signature “High Heat Burger comes topped with Cabot Cloth Bound Cheddar, their own B&B Pickles, Grilled Onion, Romaine & Tomato, and High Heat Sauce on a Grilled Soft Roll (9.95). For those who can’t decide between pizza and a burger, try the “Fold” Pizza Burger—a half-burger folded into a slice of their “Blend of 7” Cheese Pizza (4.95). Coming with a friend? Get the Max Steak Burger—20 oz. built to share—100% Dry Aged Certified Angus Beef, Gorgonzola, Thick Bacon. High Heat Fries come dressed with your choice of fresh herbs, sea salt, garlic and herb, cheddar and bacon, or Parmesan and tomato.

Waldy’s wood-smoked thin crust pizzas are made with a blend of seven domestic imported and domestic cheeses and crisped up in a custom woodstone oven that cooks at over 700 degrees. His menu includes a  “Blend of 7” High Heat ’s plain cheese pie, a Margherita - Roasted Baby Tomatoes, Mozz, Parm & Basil; and a Wild Mushrooms & Crispy Shallots, as well as Arugula, Garlic & Sunny Side Egg, Thick Cured Bacon & Jalapeno, 13-Spice Roast Chicken, Broccoli Rabe & Gorgonzola, or the Littleneck Clams Ricotta & Roasted Garlic (White). If nothing strikes your fancy, you can also design your own burgers and pizza pies with creative toppings like broccoli rabe, eggplant caponata, and farm eggs.

For dessert, if you have room, try a Triple Mini Cupcake Slice (Bourbon Caramel, Double Chocolate and Raspberry Port (4.50), or a roasted apple and blueberry crisp with vanilla bean ice cream ($6.00).
