“Table 87”

Not sure Brooklyn Heights needs another pizza place, but coal oven pizza and calzones are on the menu at the newly opened Table 87 in Brooklyn Heights. The restaurant, which takes the place of the former barbecue joint Dallas Jones, is a sweet little space with cafe curtains and a shady awning over the storefront, that offers pizzas in square and round ($24-$28) topped with options like housemade sausages, oven-roasted peppers, anchovies, hot and sweet sopressata. There are also personal pies including a breakfast pizza ($14) with two farm eggs and pancetta, and another with fig, speck, and mozarella ($16). 

Calzones are stuffed with eveything from meatballs, ricotta and mozzarella ($12), to free range chicken, brocolli rable and tomatoes ($12), and proscuitto, mozzarella, ricotta and arugula pesto ($14).

Cakes and other desserts are set up in a display case for daily treats. A beer a wine license should be in place by end of the month. For now BYOB.

Table 87 is located at Atlantic Avenue between Hicks and Henry, 718-797-9300.
