“Tenement Museum Launches Culinary Conversations”

On October 4, the Lower East Side Tenement Museum will launch Culinary Conversations, a new series of ten evening gatherings exploring the best of New York City’s food scene. Host Jane Ziegelman, best-selling author of 97 Orchard: An Edible History of Five Immigrant Families in One New York Tenement, will invite fascinating figures from the world of food to lead conversations, tastings, demonstrations and more, creating delicious and thought-provoking experiences. Upcoming guests will include Nikki Russ Federman of Russ & Daughters (10/4/12) at 6:30pm), Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese (2/12/13), Noah and Rae Bernamoff of Mile End Deli (11/15/12), author of Eat the City Robin Shulman (5/28/13), and others.
 
Like the Museum itself, Culinary Conversations will connect the past and present by exploring contemporary topics rooted in New York City’s rich history. The result is a unique and delicious cross-section of the city’s much-loved and ever-expanding culinary scene.
