“Wine versus Beer”

The grape/grain rivalry has been going on for thousands of years, and the Hearth team is hoping to set the record straight. In one corner, sommelier Paul Grieco battling for wine, and in the other, beverage director David Flaherty putting his foot down in the name of beer.

On Tuesday. Jan 29, "The United States Battle" will have Grieco and Flaherty pairing one American wine and one American beer with each of four courses prepared by chef Marco Canora, such as buckwheat pizzoccheri with creminis, savoy cabbage, fontina & thyme with Two Brothers red rye and a glass of Grenache from Besson Vineyard.

"The International Throw-Down" will follow on Tuesday, Feb 12, when Grieco and Flaherty pair international wines & beers with a four-course menu of dishes such as octopus carpaccio and cocoa rigatoni with wild boar ragu.

Both dinners are $98/person (including tax & gratuity) and begin at 7pm. Call Hearth at 646.602.1300 to make a reservation. Hearth is located at 403 East 12th Street, off of First Avenue.
