“The Easter Bunny on Ice at Rock Center (and more Easter Sunday fun)”

Forget stale Cadbury Minis and Haas egg dye sure to leave you with Technicolor fingers for a month. Celebrate Easter in style with a well-crafted American meal and participating in one of New York City’s most iconic activities.

On Sunday, March 31st 2013, join the Easter Bunny for a lap at The Rink at The Rock and mark the holiday with a family friendly three-course prix meal at either Rock Center Café or The Sea Grill.  

The Easter Bunny will be on the ice from 9am – 3pm at The Rink (5th Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets) gliding rather than hopping along with your family.  Admission is $25 with a $10 skate rental.  Do you best Sarah Hughes or Tara Lipinski in the shadow of the famous bronze Prometheus stature.

Rock Center Café Brunch: Start with traditional favorites like Shrimp Cocktail or Smoked Salmon to tide you over for the main event: Steak and Eggs (featuring Debragga Black Angus Skirt Steak) or a Seafood Paccheri Pasta with Calamari, Shrimp, Mussels, Spring Onions and Peas topped with Roasted Tomatoes and Calabrian Chili.  End your Easter on a sweet note with a choice of Cheesecake with Raspberry Sauce or an Upside Down Golden Pineapple Cake with Dark Rum Ice Cream.  Pastry Chef Michael Gabriel will also send you on your way with a complimentary bag of dark, milk and white chocolate truffle eggs.  If you’re lucky, the Easter Bunny will deliver them himself.

The Rock Center Café dinner will highlight Spring’s arrival with a Crab Cake (with Mustard Sauce and Pea Shoots) or Grilled Polenta (with Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese with Fava Beans, Grilled Spring Onions and a Balsamic finish) for an appetizer.  The entrée options will give you a taste of classic holiday dishes like Grilled Leg of Lamb, Shrimp and Asparagus Risotto, or Crystal Valley Farm Roast Chicken.

The Rock Center Café Easter Dinner will be served from 4pm – 9pm.

The Sea Grill will be celebrating Easter with a Seafood Brunch Prix Fix from 10am to 3pm. Begin with a bowl of their delicious Sea Grill Chowder (a mix of Lobster, Clams, Shrimp & Smoked Bacon.)  For a lighter start, try Long Island Fluke Ceviche with Passion Fruit, Hawaiian Papaya and Mango.  Elegant riffs on homey comfort food are next on the menu: Highlights include a Maine Sweet Shrimp Tempura Roll on Brioche and Lobster Mac and Cheese with a Burrata, Mozzarella and Cheddar Béchamel.  Complete your meal with a Warm Chocolate Steam Pudding with Pistachio Ice Cream or a Praline Milk Chocolate Bar with Banana Sorbet.

The Sea Grill is located at 19 West 49th Street (at Rockefeller Center) 212-332-7610.  Brunch is $59 for the three-course menu, $29 for a three-course option for kids under 12.
