“Vintage Irving to open in Gramercy Park”

On Tuesday August 12th, Michael Sinensky (Proof Bar & Lounge, Hudson Terrace, Sidebar) will open Vintage Irving, a contemporary European restaurant and wine bar, with chef Jason Bunin (Knickerbocker Grill, Patria) in the kitchen. (Sinensky will open another Village Pourhouse, this one on the Upper West Side, in the coming months.)

The menu at Vintage Irving will feature many small entrée-like dishes encouraging tables to order many to share, like the Contamplano Salad—Spanish chorizo with white beans, white asparagus, buffalo mozzarella, red pepper and olive tapenade, Bouillabaisse stocked with shrimp, clams, calamari, mussels, and topped with a rouille-slathered crouton, and a grilled shell steak with bleu cheese mashed potatoes, red onion confit, and a port wine reduction. For dessert, have a plate of jelly doughnuts with fresh fruit & vanilla anglaise.

At the private Tasting Room (equipped with chef’s table seating 8-12), Bunin will be cooking tasting menus, hosting weekly tastings with sommeliers, guest celebrity chefs, and mixologists.

True to its name, the restaurant has a charming, vintage countryside café feel, with exposed brick walls and hardwood furniture and an old-fashioned take-out window. At the bar you’ll find 26 craft beers as well as a selection of over 80 wines from all regions of Europe. In addition to classic cocktails, Vintage Irving will feature an absinthe bar.

Vintage Irving will open on Tuesday August 12th and is located at 118A East 15th Street, (212) 677-6300. The hours will be: Sunday: 11am-2am, Mon-Wed: 8am-2am, Thurs-Fri: 8am-4am, Sat: 11am-4am.

“Gramercy?”

It's a bit of a stretch to call this Gramercy since it's in the Zeckendorf building which sits right on Union Square.
