“More from The General Greene”

Great news for residents of Fort Greene (and folks like Craig and I, who don’t mind walking over from Cobble Hill). This neighborhood favorite for brunch and dinner is now open from breakfast through dinner, seven days a week (including Mondays, which was their previous day off). Their new hours are Monday-Friday from 7am-11pm, Saturday from 9am-11pm and Sunday from 9am- 10pm.

At breakfast, Counter Culture coffee will be served along with hearty morning eats like an egg & gruyere sandwich with whole grain mustard aioli served on a 7-grain toast, and roasted portobello & egg sandwich with goat cheese and tomato jam, along with owner Nick Morgenstern’s amazing homemade pastries, muffins, banana bread and sticky buns.

On the lunch menu you’ll find a drool-worthy selection of sandwiches like a tomato-sauce smothered pork meatball hero, a roasted pork sandwich with ham, pulled pork, house-made pickles, spicy aioli and gruyere, a smoked trout melt with red onion, hard boiled egg and gruyere, a chicken salad sandwich with avocado, arugula, dates & herb aioli and a steak sandwich with avocado, cheddar, red onions, sprouts and horseradish crème fraiche (priced $6-$8 each).

See you there!

The General Greene is located at 229 Dekalb Avenue, corner of Clemont, 718-222-1510.
