“For Those Who Miss Florent: Gansevoort 69 is Now Open”

Owners David Graziano (who designed the Pink Elephant) and Corey Lane (of Bagatelle, RdV, and Kiss & Fly, not to be confused with Cory Lane, the beverage director at the Momofuku empire) have opened Gansevoort 69 in the former Florent space, seeking to combine Florent’s 24 hour diner favorites with bistro cooking. Executive Chef Jacqueline Lombard has developed menus featuring the most enticing dishes for different times of day.

Brunch is served until 2:00 pm seven days a week with dishes like the Acme Scramble (scrambled eggs, Acme Superior Gold, cream cheese, red onion and capers on a toasted bagel with pickled cucumbers and tomatoes, $14), or chicken & waffles (served with Bourbon-spiked maple syrup, $14).

From 2 pm until midnight the menu features comfort food classics like macaroni & cheese ($10), fish and chips ($16) and a 24-Hour BBQ pork sandwich (served with wilted greens, garlic confit, and yam fries, for $14).

There is also a Midnight Munchies menu for late night diners (served from midnight until 6 am) with a combination of brunch items and the comfort food dishes you crave at that hour. Desserts (served all day long)  include S’Mores (graham cracker spoons topped with homemade toasted marshmallows and a Hershey’s chocolate fondue) for $10 and Butterscotch Whisky Cookies served with an espresso milkshake for $10 ($11 with a shot of Jameson).

In keeping with the historic space’s ability to please all people all the time, every table gets a dish of tater-tots served with dipping sauces on the house.

Gansevoort 69 is located at 69 Gansevoort Street (212-691-0069).
