“ Celebrating Shacktoberfest: A Fete to Sausage”

A love affair with sausage is already sweeping the city (at DBGB and the Standard Beer Garden, most recently). But if worshippers of Danny Meyer’s Shake Shack burgers fall for an assortment of sausages during “Shacktoberfest,” it’ll be no surprise if it grows to a full-on addiction.

In honor of Oktoberfest, beginning October 2nd and running through October 11th, the Shake Shack at Madison Square Park and Upper West Side (Columbus Ave. at 77th St.) will offer a selection of Bavarian-inspired sausages ($6 each). There’s the currywurst using griddled Usinger’s Knockwurst topped with a Shack-made curry, onion and paprika-spiced tomato sauce and a more simple Usinger’s Weisswurst with braised red cabbage. Of course there are beer pairings, too. Ranging from $5.25 to $8.50, you can pick artisanal beers such a Wolaver’s Will Steven’s pumpkin ale or Otter Creek Oktoberfest. Instead of a shake, you can feed your sweet tooth an apple strudel or German-chocolate cake ($6.75 each).

The Shake Shack is open seven days a week form 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Enjoy!
