“Dine for Haiti, Five Courses plus Beer at Bark, Pizza Al'Uovo at Motorino, Family Style Sunday Supper at Double Crown ”

Tonight: Dine for Haiti at Ardesia

Many restaurants are finding ways to raise money for Haiti (visit the Strong Buzz for more events), but this one is happening tonight at Ardesia, the Hell's Kitchen wine bar which is donating 20% of gross revenues and 5% of tips to the relief efforts. With the most recent quake this morning, the need is more dire than ever. Ardesia is located at 510 W. 52nd St., nr. Tenth Ave.; 212-247-9191.

Tonight: Five-Course Beer Tasting Dinner at Bark Hot Dogs

We think hots dog and beer were made for each other. If you agree, then Bark Hot Dogs’ five-course beer tasting dinner taking place tonight (Thursday January 21st) is for you. At each of the two seatings — 6:30 and 9 p.m. — you’ll get pairings of Brooklyn’s Sixpoint Craft Ales with each course. Three of the beers are limited and you won’t be able to get them elsewhere, including a special that will be unveiled that night.

At $40 per person, you’ll start off with crispy pork with spicy pickled chili mayo and bread and butter pickles. Other dishes include the half veggie dog with onion rings; a charcute garni with sausage, smoked bacon, ham hock and potato; and chocolate-bread pudding with malt ice ccream. For beer lovers, you can you go home with half-gallon glass growlers for $12. Call the restaurant to make reservations or e-mail bark@barkhotdogs.com. You’ll need a credit card to secure a seat. Enjoy!

All Weekend Long: Pizza Al’Uovo at Motorino

When asked recently to write a story about the best pizza around the country for National Geographic Traveler (it comes out in April), one of my first picks was Motorino, the newish Neapolitan spot in Williamsburg with a newer branch in Manhattan on 12th Street. If you haven’t been, it’s a must. And now, you can wake up for brunch at Motorino with chef Mathieu Palombino’s Pizza Al’Uovo, his delicious riff on the classic egg and bacon breakfast in the form of a crispy, wood-fired pizza covered with puddles of creamy fior di latte mozzarella, three eggs and smoky pancetta topped with basil and grated pecorino romano cheese. The Pizza Al’Uovo ($15) will be served in addition to their regular brunch menu available Saturdays and Sundays from 11AM to 4PM.  Motorino is located at 349 East 12th St., 212-777-2644, and also delivers in case breakfast in bed is more what you had in mind.

Sunday: Nonya Dinners Sundays at Double Crown

Nonya is the banquet dining of Singapore and Malaysia that combines Chinese ingredients and cooking techniques with traditional Malaysian spices. On Sunday nights, Double Crown chefs Brad Farmerie and Chris Rendell are offering family-style five course dinners celebrating these home style dishes, such as Singapore Laksa soup (rice noodles, crab, and bean sprouts), spicy pork stuffed lychees with coconut sauce, and grilled prawns with sesame broth and pickled ginger. The dinners are $35 for five courses, but for an additional $20 you can order the 3-part cocktail pairing, featuring drinks like the Ivory Tulip (Mekhong Rum, chamomile, honey, coconut water, lychee, and champagne) or a Cucumber, Apple and Elder flower Tall (Zubrowka Bison Grass vodka, apple, elderflower, and cucumber). Sounds good to me – spicy noodles and cocktails are a foolproof way to banish the Sunday blues.

Double Crown is located at 316 Bowery, 212-254-0350.
