“Halloween and Day of the Dead Fun”

Wine Harvest Celebration at Kellari

Halloween is usually about ghosts and ghouls (or this year, the best Snooki costume), but if you're looking for something a bit different, head over to Kellari Parea Bistro and Kellari Taverna for the fifth annual Dionysia Festival, which honors the Greek god of wine.

Chef Gregory Zapantis is offering a special $49.95 four-course dinner menu with UNLIMITED Greek wine. You can start off with some fresh oysters topped with flying fish caviar and then dive into a grilled quail with a blood orange and fennel salad. The main course options include rabbit stifado, wild boar fricassee and Mediterranean fagri (a mild fish similar to red snapper). The chocolate baklava is a perfect ending to the meal. If you can't do dinner, there are daily tastings from 5 to 8 p.m. featuring different grape varietals from various regions. On Oct. 30, there's also a "Gods and Goddesses" themed Halloween party with dancing and music.

Enjoy.

Kalleri Parea Bistro is located at 36 East 20th St. (212-777-8448) and Kalleri Taverna (212-221-0144) is located at 19 West 44th St., http://www.kellari.us/.

For Halloween? Candy and Wine?!

Pairing candy with wines and spirits is the object of a free tasting Saturday, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Bottlerocket Wine & Spirit, 5 West 19th Street. Special trick or treat bags for Halloween produced by FEED, a charity that supports food projects worldwide, will benefit the United States Fund for Unicef, which helps young children who are at risk for malnutrition. The bags are $13.20 plus shipping and handling from hsn.com/hsncares.

Day of the Dead at Suenos

Chef Sue Torres is serving her annual Day of the Dead menu this weekend (Friday through Monday) and if you're a fan of authentic Mexican, it's not to be missed. Her a la carte celebration menu includes dishes like shrimp pozole with tomatoes and green chiles, grilled quail with cherimoya puree and citrus jicama salad, tortilla soup, turkey and chorizo roulade with black mole and sweet potato puree, and as always, hand-made tortillas, griddled to order in the dining room. Yum.

Suenos is located at 311 West 17th Street, 212-243-1333.
