“The 'Cue Burger at Fatty, Spicy Sundays, and more at James”

New at Fatty Cue

Fatty ‘Cue was one of my favorite meals of 2010 and by the end of year food writing I have been reading, I am not alone in my views. There’s smokin’ luscious deliciousness to be had there. Go!  Zak and his crew have added a few new 2011 items to the menu, and you can check them out this weekend at brunch. They include what is destined to become known as legendary between the buns: the 'Cue Burger ($15). Made from a house blend of ground meats layered with house-smoked coriander bacon, smoked cheddar, lettuce, green tomato, red onion, pickle, aioli, and chili jam, the burger is a meaty mouthful packed with flavor. (If you can’t make it for brunch, it  The 'Cue Burger is also being served at lunch and on their late night menus.)

Another new addition to the lunch and brunch menus is the 'Cue Bacon, Egg and Cheese featuring house-smoked coriander bacon, two fried eggs and smoked cheese on a kaiser roll ($9). It’s ideal for those late-risers (I am jealous) whose first meal of the day comes around 12pm or 1pm when the stomach craves a hearty egg sandwich.

Spicy Sundays at Pranna

If you love Indian, check out Pranna’s new Spicy Sunday $28 three course family style menu with a select wine list of half priced bottles. Executive Chef Keith Kornfeld is serving a menu that features dishes such as Chicken Korma and Paneer Makhani (a rich dish cooked with tomatoes, cream, butter, paneer, garlic and ginger).

And at James…

The folks at James (605 Carlton Avenue in Brooklyn, 718.942.4255) are continuing their Sunday Suppers ($25 for three courses) with dishes like Kabocha  Squash Soup with Black Trumpet Mushrooms, Spinach Salad with Cipollini Onions, Shiitake Mushrooms, Pine Nuts, Parmesan-Reggiano and Balsamico, Butternut Squash Risotto with Grana Padano, Hazelnuts and Truffle Oil, Grilled Block Island Swordfish with Garlic Whipped Potatoes, Roasted Broccoli, Rosemary Buerre Blanc, and Pear  & Apple Crostata with Maple Ice Cream or Chocolate Bombe with Raspberries for dessert.  

They are also kicking off the New Year with a Monday night special for all you burger enthusiasts. Choose from three half-price burgers and sliders every Monday from 5:30-11pm.

•        CLASSIC: 8oz Beef Burger with Vermont Cheddar on Seeded Brioche with Herb Fries

•        LAMB BURGER: Cumin Dusted Lamb Burger with Warm Goat Cheese, Melted Cippolini Onions on Sesame Semolina with Smoked Paprika Fries

•        PORK SLIDER: Slow Roasted Pulled Pork on Parker House Roll with Cole Slaw and Sweet Potato Fries.
