“Cook Out NYC, Family-Style Dinners at Untitled, and High Line Picnics from Eolo”

Cook Out NYC

Cook Out NYC, a summer time country fare and barbecue is being held on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Governors Island. It's being organized by Strong Buzz pal Jimmy Carbone as part of Mayor Bloomberg's Good Beer Month and includes 25 different chefs and local purveyors serving everything from sticky ribs to roasted pork to juicy sliders. Chefs include Sam Barbieri of the Waterfront Ale House and Fuhgettabout it BBQ, who will be serving up bbq beef brisket and Jerk pork loin, and King Phojanakong of Kuma Inn who is doing braised pork belly. The crew from Fatty Crab will be grilling with Dickson's Farmstead Meats, The Lobster Place will be grilling shrimp, and a guest chef from Montana will be grilling up Wild Ideas bison.

There's even something for vegetarians! Brooklyn Rooftop Gardens will be doing grilled vegetables and many chefs will be putting up salads and veggie sides. Sixpoint Craft Ales will be pouring four beers including a wheat, a pilsner and two beers custom brews for the event. For dessert, enjoy Woolsey's shaved ice.

Tickets include food; local beer is $6 a glass, or four for $20. Tickets are $40 in advance from cookoutnyc.com, $45 at the gate. Kids 12 and younger come for free!

Untitled Serves Friday Night Family-Style Dinners

When we first introduced you to Danny Meyer's Untitled café at the Whitney Museum, the paint had barely dried on this new work of art. By now, we hope you've had the chance to taste the farm fresh cuisine of executive chef Chris Bradley (of Gramercy Tavern). If not, here's the perfect excuse.

Untitled has decided to extend the weekend by offering a dinner menu on Friday nights in addition to Saturdays and Sundays. A recent menu, which changes weekly to feature market fresh ingredients, included smoked salmon served with fresh beets, grilled brisket with green garlic sauce and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

The three-course dinner is available for $46 per person (not including drinks, tax and tip). It's a pretty good deal in the world of prix fixe. And for us oenophiles, the corking fee is just $10 (not bad for NYC-I've seen worse in the 'burbs).

Can't wait for the weekend? Untitled also offers its day menu on the go all week long. Bring home any of chef Bradley's coffee classics from eggs to pancakes to soups, sandwiches and burgers-all made from local ingredients.

To make reservations for a weekend dinner, visit www.untitledatthewhitney.com.

Untitled is located on the Whitney Museum's lower level at 945 Madison Avenue (at 75th Street), 212-570-3670.
