“Grub Street Food Festival and Lost & Found Brunch at CO-Op”

Sunday: Grub Street Food Festival (it’s free!)

On Sunday, October 23, Grub Street will once again be taking over the Lower East Side's Hester Street Fair. Just like last year, they're hosting a street vendor get-together at the corner of Essex and Hester. Unlike last year, they’ve expanded the space greatly to accommodate the turnout, which means room for more people — and room for more food.

Among the glorious eating options you can expect: a host of roll options from Luke's Lobster; barbecue from Brooklyn's Char No. 4, Daisy Duke's, and Georgia's Eastside BBQ; Mexican from places like Fonda, Mexicue, Dos Toros, and Cascabel; haute dogs from Bark; and plenty of sweets from the Kelvin Natural Slush Co., the Big Gay Ice Cream Team, Macaron Parlour, and one of my favorite local ice creams, Adirondack Creamery, which will be serving up their Pumpkin Pie and Peppermint Stick flavors, as well as sampling some of its other flavors including Kulfi-Pistachio Cardamom, Whiteface Mint Chip, Coffee Bean, Coconut, and Barkeater (the literal translation of “Adirondack”).

It's free to get in, and it all goes down between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Lost & Found Brunch at CO-OP

The Fall season is officially in progress at CO-OP which has launched their Lost & Found Brunch. This is no regular Bloody Mary and a Benedict affair. Saturday afternoons you’ll be invited to "Lose Yourselves" for CO-OP's version of the party brunch featuring a live performance of the GIPSY KINGS by Christo & Raphael and countless fresh Belvedere Bloody Maries.  For those looking for a more relaxing experience, they invite you to "Find Yourself" on Sundays with Penthouse Yoga Classes by EAST YOGA, Hydrating Teas by Teaologist, Detoxifying Smoothies, and Acai Berrie Cocktails.

Whichever you choose, their new brunch menu by chef John Keller includes Dulce de Leche French Toast, Huevos Rancheros Tostada, Pork Belly & Egg Steamed Buns, Spicy Tuna Egg Benedict, Cheddar & Jalapeno Biscuits, CO-OP Churros, LES Smoked Salmon Latkes, and their signature Lollipop Chicken Wings.  And don't forget to try their newest cocktail the Genius Palmer, a combination of Vodka, Genius Iced Tea, and a lemonade ice cube.

Reserve by visiting CO-OPRESTAURANT.COM or calling 212-796-8040. CO-OP is located at 107 Rivington Street.

Happy Weekend!
