Free Ice Cream at ‘wichcraft Bryant Park on Friday


This Friday, April 13th, the 'wichcraft ice cream kiosk in Bryant Park is re-opening for the spring and summer seasons! To launch the ice cream season they’re giving the stuff away, for free!

This year they are offering custom made ice cream'wiches. You’ll have a choice between three types of 'wichcraft signature cookies - chocolate, peanut butter or oatmeal - and six flavors of grass-fed organic ice cream: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, coconut or peach - to create your own custom ice cream'wich on the spot.

If sandwiches are not your thing (seek therapy) but you can also just go for a scoop topped with a variety of sweet snacks like cookie crumbs, chocolate or butterscotch sauce, and/or roasted nuts.  Also on tap: root beer floats made with vanilla ice cream and Boylan's root beer soda.

For their opening on Friday, April 13th, between 2 and 4pm, they’re serving any scoop of ice cream or selected ice cream'wiches for free at the 'wichcraft ice cream kiosk!

Located at the south side of Bryant Park just north of 40th Street and east of 6th Avenue, this seasonal kiosk rotates between hot chocolate in the colder months and ice cream in the warmer months. Their custom signature ice cream'wiches are priced at $4.25, one scoop of ice cream is
$4 and a double scoop is $5.50.


Celebrate Thai New Year

April 13-15 is actually the Thai New Year (called Songkran) and on Sunday April 15, Chef Hong Thaimee of Ngam (http://ngamnyc.com/) restaurant in New York's East Village will be offering the next cooking class in her series for the occasion-the theme is "The Feast of Chiang Mai."

Here's what you’ll learn to make (and eat):

Yum Jin Kai (very rustic chicken soup)
Nam Prik Noom (Young pepper relish)
Nam Prik Aong (Pork relish)
Very authentic Kao Soy - the traditional dish for Songkran
Sai Oor (Chiang Mai sausage)

The class is from 4pm-6:30pm at the restaurant and is $90 per person. Mgam is located at 99 3rd Avenue, 212.777.8424.
