the weekend buzz

“Visit the DeKalb Market ”

If you haven't checked out the Dekalb Market, the time is now. There place is fantastic, with a great roster of shops and local eats including freshly fried donuts, jerk sliders, dark-roasted coffee, and Brooklyn-made pickles, cookies, sandwiches, local craft beer and wine, sangria, mimosas, and lots more, all presented in a funky, urban, colorful freight containers-as-shops, and a sandbox worth of picnic tables.

It's all very Portlandia meets Brooklandia, which means you'll want to sports your straw fedora, summer flannel, handmade buttons, recycled shoes with composted shoelaces, and retro sunglasses of course.

Even if you don't compost, don't make your own honey from Cobble Hill bees, and don't use reclaimed record vinyl to craft your own jewelry, you'll still have a great time. Check in for more information on dance parties, free open-air markets, unique foodie events, bike in movie nights, lobster boils, roller derbies and an ongoing series of special live music performances. It's gonna be one hot summah.

Hope to see you there this weekend!
