Eat, drink and give back every Saturday this December at Park Slope’s TEMPO Restaurant, where one hundred percent of the nightly proceeds go directly to Modest Needs Foundation, to help hardworking, low-income families survive an unexpected financial crisis. You’ll enjoy a three-course $42 prix-fixe menu featuring Italian and Mediterranean cuisine with dishes like Duck Pastilla Rolls, Bucatini with Sicilian Pistachio Nut Pesto, Grilled Black Angus Rib Eye Steak for Two and Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding. Included at the end of the meal is a valid tax receipt for a charitable deduction and a personal story of a Modest Needs application that your donation will benefit. Go ahead and treat yourself, you might find that the food tastes even better when dining out for a good cause!

Saturday: Feliz de cocina! Cooking Classes at Pamplona, 37 East 28th Street, 212-213-2328


Chef Alex Ureña of the Spanish Tapas favorite Pamplona is offering three cooking classes on Saturday afternoons this December, sharing some of his favorite dishes along with entertaining tips geared toward helping you make a good impression on friends and family this holiday season.

This Saturday, December 6th, he’s celebrating the season with a Holiday Tapas Party with tapas like Goat Cheese & Membrillo Croquettes. On December 13th, he’s offering a class geared toward a Christmas Feast with hot sangria, and on December 20th Chef Ureña will teach entertaining ideas for New Year’s Eve with festive no-fuss drinks. These hands-on classes are held from 10 am- 2 pm and include a light breakfast and lunch paired with Spanish wines.

For a true Spanish style holiday and to learn it all, all four classes can be taken for $280 or you can choose your favorite for $75 per class.
