“Reading Room”

The New York Times has some interesting reading for food loving New Yorkers this week.

Check out the article about the new Russ & Daughter’s cookbook and Alex Witchel's piece on Nick Imirziades Big Nick's Burger & Pizza Joint on Broadway.

I was also intrigued by this City Room piece about a Pop Up Restaurant dedicated to the food of Iraqi Jews.

In terms of fiction, I just finished two books that, curiously, both centered on obese protagonists. Both books were beautifully written stories of love, longing, family dysfunction, and dreams lost and found. They were: Heft, byt Liz Moore and The Middlesteins by Jami Attenberg. Check them out.
