“Brooklyn's Newest Social: Henry Public”

The folks behind Brooklyn Social, the neighborhood favorite for cocktails and conversation, are bringing Brooklyn another taste of the good life with the soon to open Henry Public (Henry Street between Atlantic and Pacific).

Partners Jen Albano and Matt Dawson (they’re married), along with Tracy Meyer and Jeremy Dawson (Matt's brother) have put together a saloon in the style of old world Brooklyn, what they describe as “an amalgam of periods celebrating peoples (& ideas) that lived, worked, preached and shaped Brooklyn history.” All the pieces in the tavern were source and scavenged from across the country and in every detail there’s a story.

Their bar menu is simple and features great ingredients like grass fed beef and a single patty bun created per the partners’ finicky specs by Orwashers. Their burgers come with house-made pickles and sharp cheddar. There will also be a turkey leg sandwich with fries; egg sandwiches on weekends and the like. Of course, Matt’s creating kickin' cocktail menu and there will be five  beers on tap as well as bottles, mostly craft. Stay tuned for an October opening.
