“Thistle Hill Tavern Coming to South Slope this Winter”
David Massoni (of 'inotecca) will open Thistle Hill Tavern this December (or January, depending on how things go) with partners John Bush (a longtime East Village Bartender) and Mike Burkett (better known as Fat Mike of the seminal punk rock band NOFX). The restaurant, which will be located at corner of Seventh Ave. and 15th St. in the South Slope, will serve robust regional seasonal cuisine in a very laid back, turn-of-the-century tavern setting. The chef is a woman who will be named at a later date. Stay tuned!

The more south-of-9th good food, the better. Welcome Thistle Hill Tavern...can't wait for the opening.
just don't take business away from Scalino. it's the one place in the neighborhood I like. haven't been to Provini, yet. Anyone else, been? Other than Applewood, am I missing out on anything?

i live in the area and have been a long time fan of inoteca. this sounds like it could be a great addition to the area. will be keeping an eye on the build out.
I can't wait to experience THISTLE HILL TAVERN! Congratulations and Best Wishes to David, John and Mike! Let me know your Opening date so I can book a flight from San Francisco!

Also check out the Double Windsor on PPW and 16th, which has an amazing small menu and is a great bar, and Lot2 on 6th ave and 20th. this end of the world is coming along!
