“Alex Urena Returns as Chef at Rayuela”

Chef Alex Urena has taken the reigns of "Freestyle Latino" restaurant Rayuela, a six-year culinary presence in the Lower East Side (165 Allen Street NYC, www.rayuelanyc.com, 212-253-8840). Alex is a super talent David Bouley-protegee, with a pedigree that includes experience in kitchens all over the world including France (Le Clos de Cimes), Spain (El Bulli), New York (River Café, JoJo, and a seven-year stay at Bouley), and The Bahamas (Executive Chef position at Mesa Grill). He also had his own restaurant Ureña in NYC from 2006 to 2009. This is certainly good news for Rayuela.
