“Bouley”

Romantic French Tribeca Break the Bank Off the Charts

After a hiatus following 9/11 (and a settled lawsuit for insurance fraud), acclaimed chef David Bouley is back behind the stoves at his temple of haute French gastronomy, Bouley. Housed in the newly renovated and impeccably decorated space that was once his more casual bistro concept, Bouley Bakery, the new Bouley is taking a stab at winning back Manhattan’s most discerning and divine diners. The restaurant is succeeding. The elegant and oh-so-civilized place is packed with well-heeled foodies, fashionistas, political pundits, and bold faced named celebs who understand that a night in the care of Mr. Bouley will be nothing short of miraculous. Indeed, Mr. Bouley delivers on every front—service is charming, seasonal ingredients are stunning, French technique is light and infused with a subtle nod to Japan, and his kitchen magic is nothing short of brilliant.

His first cookbook, written with the talented Melissa Clark, and his chef Mario Lonninger (of Danube) is called East of Paris.

Bouley, 120 West B'way, at Duane Street, 212-964-2525
